About NEET

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET (UG)), succeeded from All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study undergraduate medical courses (MBBS) and dental courses (BDS) in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges in India. The undergraduate NEET (UG), for MBBS and BDS courses, is currently conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which provides the results to the Directorate General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Candidates must attain 17 years of age by December 31, 2020 to sit for NEET 2020. There is no upper age limit for NEET 2020 as per an interim order of the Supreme Court. However, the candidature of aspirants more than 25 years of age is subject to the Supreme Courts' ordersno limit on the number of attempts for NEET 2020.Candidates who have completed or appearing in class 12th with minimum 5 subjects including English, Chemistry, Physics as compulsory subjects can apply.

Exam Pattern

  • Mode of the exam: Offline (Pen- paper based Test)
  • Exam duration: 3 hours
  • No. of questions in each section: Physics- 45, Chemistry- 45, Biology- 90 (Botany- 45, Zoology- 45)
  • Total marks: 720 marks
  • Marking Scheme: + 4 for correct answer, -1 for incorrect answer
